Scot Ferguson
Scot Ferguson is a native of Nevada where he graduated from The University of Nevada, Reno with a M.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Science. In his early career he did research on native plants, restoration, and competition in invaded landscapes in the Great Basin.
Scot transitioned career focus in 2014 and spent the next seven years in greenhouse ornamental and floriculture production in Minnesota. This work focused on pest management, climate control and physiology, mineral nutrition, and agribusiness. In 2022 Scot moved to Virginia and continued his work in greenhouse vegetable production with a focus on commissioning of new facilities and leadership. In 2024, Scot joined the Virginia Cooperative Extension as Associate Agriculture and Natural Resource Agent for Hanover County.
Scot has a passion for environmental resources, local communities, and agriculture across the diverse landscapes in the commonwealth and looks forward to serving and leading the County of Hanover through extension work.
